Numbers 6:24-26 "The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace."

This is called the “Aaronic Blessing” (as in the blessing Aaron, priest and brother of Moses gives to the Israelites) and is used in both Jewish and Christian worship. Today, we talk of connecting with someone “face-to-face.” This metaphor for close communication is nowhere more true then when a lover of God meets his/her beloved. We ache for the Father’s approval, not always realizing we are approved already before we do a thing.
