Jeremiah 45:5
5 Are you seeking great things for yourself? Don’t do it! I will bring great disaster upon all these people; but I will give you your life as a reward wherever you go. I, the Lord, have spoken!’”
When you are serving others for the sake of your own glory, you have your reward. Affirmation from people and a sense of power. When you are serving others for their sake, you have God’s affirmation and a sense of empowerment. These are two completely different scenarios. Which one do you want to be part of?

7 And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.”
God’s people are forced into exile in the city of Babylon. They want to live outside of town and would rather have nothing to do with the city, but God tells them to move right into the heart of the city and be a blessing. As the city prospers they prosper. As they prosper, the city prospers. In media, economics, politics, just about any arena you can think of, as goes the cities, so goes the world. God has a strategy. Living in Los Angeles, of course I totally agree.
Pray for urban Christians to be a blessing to their communities.

Isaiah 49:6
6 He says, “You will do more than restore the people of Israel to me.
I will make you a light to the Gentiles,
and you will bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.”
We are called to join the Messiah, Jesus, and bring restoration to all peoples of the world. The good news is for everyone. The Gospel speaks to all cultures in a way that no other worldview has even come close.
Pray for Christians from other cultures that are coming to the United States to spread the Gospel.

The ideal wife from Proverbs 31 is actually quite a progressive picture. She is the emotional hub of her household, and is also heavily involved in real estate, manufacturing, and investment. Read Proverbs 31 to see how the biblical woman has key economic influence, as well as in the home. What does this say to us today?
One thing that is clear is general ignorance of the radical empowerment of women in scripture. The view of women in the New Testament, for example, is light years ahead of other ancient cultures. Taken contextually, it is astounding. If your view of women in the Bible is barefoot and pregnant, think again (though being barefoot can be very comfortable and pregnancy leads to the amazing gift of children).
If you are a guy and married, make breakfast for the family tomorrow. If you’re not, pray for the significant women in your life.

Who needs help? This is an honest question when you look at all the needs in the world. “Whose life could I personally influence in a positive way?” is another way of asking this question. Perhaps it is a matter of how open someone is to my influence.
Pray for God to place the needs of someone in your radar today.

Even night watchmen in the temple of Israel worship and praise God. It is interesting to think of the faith response of those who receive wages for ministry. Working with a church community in this way can be most satisfying. It can also be frustrating because of the deep connection between work and soul that is part of it.
Pray for staff at your local church community that they might have the joy of the Lord.

There are three praises here. Do you think our service is a sign of praise? Of course it is. When we serve God through serving others and funding his mission in the world, it is the strongest way we have of putting our time and money to the best use possible. God takes what we give of our resources and expands it tremendously. He is the loaves and fish guy after all.
Pray for God to increase your generosity of service and financial giving to his Kingdom Work.

When we serve God is delighted. I don’t think it is the magnitude of what we do as much as it is we are just doing something. Christians are held back if they sit around and wait for God to tell them what to do in service. If you can’t think of anything start simple. Fill a cooler up with ice and bottled water and hand it out to people who are panhandling. Everybody can use some cool water. (Matthew 10:42)
Pray for incentive from God to get serving.

The created world is neither random nor meaningless. While some people might say they disagree with this, my hunch is they live as if it is true. They probably have checking accounts and insurance to say the least.
So, to care for the world takes a strategy that we humans live out in many different ways, from family to government and so on. Christians just happen to trust that God wants us to care for the world with love and justice. We are not called to worship nature nor exploit it. Who would have thought that the best, true, environmentalists could turn out to be normal followers of Jesus?
Where can you improve your own environmental sensitivity? Pray for guidance in this.

When those in authority exploit their positions for their own pure gain, they are not serving, they are embezzling from God. God transforms criminals; he doesn’t assist them in their life of crime.
Pray for justice from those who have fiscal responsibility in our government.

9 So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?"
In order to serve God we need God. This is different from the way we usually do things. Normally to serve means to fulfill a need that someone has for service. With God there is no need. He wants us to serve so others will be blessed, not him. He wants us to grow while we serve. We are never able to serve others the way God would have us serve on our own. That’s why for those who are open to his power, God shows up.
Pray for God to show you a new area of service.

Uriah replied, “The Ark and the armies of Israel and Judah are living in tents, and Joab and my master’s men are camping in the open fields. How could I go home to wine and dine and sleep with my wife? I swear that I would never do such a thing.”
God’s leaders are servants. Just like Jesus. They share the life of the community along with others on the team. They don’t separate themselves and have standards for the team they aren’t willing to follow themselves. Leaders don’t ask people to do what they aren’t willing to do.
Pray for ways to join with others in service.

When we see God’s hand behind what we are already doing we are willing to stretch and accomplish way more than we thought possible. Don’t be surprised, however, when the willingness comes first. Many times when we come to that place in our faith journey when we have a willingness to risk, God showing up follows it. This is the way it works.
Where do you need to take more risks for the Lord?

This doesn’t sound like much of an acceptance of a marriage proposal! Marrying a king has some interesting connotations. However, to be mutually serving each other is a solid principle to live out in any marriage. When each spouse focuses on the other spouse’s strengths and encourages him or her to build on them.
Pray for two married couples you know to be strengthened.

5 Whatever Saul asked David to do, David did it successfully. So Saul made him a commander over the men of war, an appointment that was welcomed by the people and Saul’s officers alike.
When it comes to serving the Lord, faithfulness is essential. Follow through is critical. But what about success? Results are in the hands of God. We are not in charge of results.
However, lack of success can mean many things besides waiting for God’s timing. Maybe you don’t have a passion for that ministry. It isn’t what God intends for you to be doing in the first place. You need more equipping to be effective.
What is a key area you can work on this year?

21 David came to Saul and entered his service. Saul liked him very much, and David became one of his armor-bearers. 22 Then Saul sent word to Jesse, saying, "Allow David to remain in my service, for I am pleased with him."
When we serve those who lead, we serve God. In David’s case, it means even serving a leader (Saul) who is less than admirable. We aren’t the ones to decide to only serve people we agree with. If our service leads to sin, we can choose not to, but we must be willing to suffer the consequences.
Pray for government officials you tend to disagree with.

Serving God is an all out effort. It certainly includes total respect and, yes, even a fear of letting him down. I sense a deep connection to God, but I am never laid back like we are buddies. I can be a friend of Jesus, but I can’t forget he is my creator after all.

At this point, Samuel didn’t even know God. Eli is wise to teach Samuel it is still his responsibility to make himself available to God, even if he doesn’t trust in him, yet. Actually, the very act of calling himself a “servant.” is an indication that trust is coming.
Pray for people you know who are seeking faith.

We don’t serve in order to be rewarded by God. We don’t have to. Through Jesus, we are already fully loved and accepted by God when we realize we are fully loved and accepted by God. We are rewarded when serving, however. How can we not help feel a sense of “well done” when we totally give ourselves for the sake of others?
Pray for God to guide you to a new avenue of service.

To serve God is always a choice. Even within families it is a choice. If you have a spouse or children, they are ultimately responsible for their own faith.
However, with children, before they are old enough to decide for themselves, you speak for them when it comes to God. If Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, you want to help them connect with Jesus any way you can. What kind of monster would keep this gift away from their kids? Best place to start is to model the faith yourself.

You and Aaron are to number by their divisions all the men in Israel twenty years old or more who are able to serve in the army.
Absolute pacifism is not God’s biblical mandate. Yet, some day, when Jesus rules the wills of all people, there will be no need for a military. In the meantime, pray for justice and righteousness to rule in all governments.
Pray for soldiers you are acquainted with. If you aren’t, ask around until you find some you can.

"Anoint them just as you anointed their father, so they may serve me as priests. Their anointing will be to a priesthood that will continue for all generations to come."
Unlike the judge, the priest/ pastor does not primarily serve the people. He/ she is nor a public servant; he/ she ultimately reports directly to God. If you think this is an easy yoke for a priest/ pastor, just ask them what this is like to have God being your final authority. Actually, God is the final authority for everyone…
Pray for pastors and priests to have the courage to follow God without compromise.

tyrant
Exodus 14:12
Didn't we say to you in Egypt, 'Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians'? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!"
When God’s people are complaining in the wilderness they show a reoccurring theme in human history. Giving up freedom for the false security of the tyrant. It never works in the long run. We know how this always ends up without exception: choose the tyrant and choose death of everything God created you to be. We are created to be free and the only benevolent dictator that will ever work for all people is, of course, the only true one. We are free to serve the Master and, yes, that will work. Just have to wait to see it happen.
Pray for people who are not able to live free.

21 All whose hearts were stirred and whose spirits were moved came and brought their sacred offerings to the Lord. They brought all the materials needed for the Tabernacle, for the performance of its rituals, and for the sacred garments.
God funds his mission through the obedience of his disciples. It is not by accident that those who stay close to God will be excited by giving. It is the way God designed it. Even Jesus is thrilled to get to the cross, the ultimate gift (Hebrews 12:2)
Pray for God to stir you to increase your generosity toward his mission.

Genesis 32:10
10 I am unworthy of all the kindness and faithfulness you have shown your servant. I had only my staff when I crossed this Jordan, but now I have become two groups.
When Jacob prays to God, he makes sure that though he is serving God, God knows that Jacob knows that it is God who blesses his servants. Anything we do for the glory of God is more than rewarded by the awesome life the God-led get to live. In a real sense, service is never really a sacrifice.
Thank God for being so good to you today.

When our will and God’s will intersect, we begin to see him at work the way Jesus sees him. When we are serving God, we never have complete solitude because there is always someone hanging around with us. Thank Him!!

12 One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.
I have a chance to be in the mountains on occasion. It is always beautiful and it changes your perspective. While hiking up Half Dome in Yosemite, one of the things you notice about mountains is it makes you concentrate on just catching your breath. The mountains bring you back to the basics, including the very air you breath.
Thank God for the gift of life and for carrying you along the way.

Amazing things sometimes happen in solitude. What about a combination nuclear reactor and Savior? That is kind of special. A baby in an obscure cave/ stable somewhere in the middle of the universe? Not so ordinary. How can we shine today? Maybe some time alone will guide us to figure it out.
Pray for God to reveal what he has in store for you.

If you are a morning person, this is by far the best time to spend alone with God. Now remember, Jesus is divine and so he appears to be a night person and a morning person! You just need to pick one as the best time for you to be alone with him.

never made merry with them;
I sat alone because your hand was on me
and you had filled me with indignation.
Being alone may mean acting differently than those around you. Like Jeremiah, who is speaking specifically here about drunken, party animals. This is especially the case for followers of Jesus who would choose not to join in behavior they think is inappropriate. A quiet “No thanks,” is much more effective than a condemnation, of course.
Pray for graciousness with those who have different lifestyle guidelines.

1 The desert and the parched land will be glad;
the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.
Lonely places can be beautiful. It is not uncommon for those seeking the Lord to go out in the desert. This is a popular place to gather your thoughts and focus. Yet, the desert is also a place to see the beauty of God in the wind sweeping over the sand and the flowers coming out of the cacti. Just avoid the ATV’s and bring plenty of water!
Pray for St. Andrews Abbey, in the high desert at Valyermo, CA.

Elijah was in solitude and God provided. This is good to know. When we are alone with God, it gives us a sense of our ultimate limitation in life. All we can trust on in the end is God. All we can hope for in the end is God. All we need is God. It’s good to spend some solitude time getting to know God. Very good.

9 From the rocky peaks I see them, from the heights I view them. I see a people who live apart and do not consider themselves one of the nations.
Too much solitude is not a good thing. I can be a loner, on purpose, because I don’t want to deal with people. We can even be in solitude as a community. This is especially challenging if we are a Christian church. We are to be a blessing to those around us, but if we set up barriers against the “evil” outside world we never connect the Jesus who is already out there serving.
Pray for God to get you out with people more.

Jacob wrestling with a man/ angel/ God is a fascinating story. Like Nacho Libre, without the comedy. Jacob struggling with his life, the poor choices he has made in his life, and his future. God appears to him and they wrestle it out.
Wrestling with God in the quiet to the night is not a rare phenomenon. Even atheists do it. It’s called the “conscience.” So whether deliberately or subconsciously, night wrestling may be the only time God finds us open enough to listen.

Solitude- The creation of an open, empty space in our lives by purposefully abstaining from interaction with other human beings, so that, freed from competing loyalties, we can be found by God. (Renovare Study Bible)
We will finish the year in solitude. What an appropriate time during the hustle of these days before Christmas. We are with people more this month of December than just about any other time of year and yet we also can feel very lonely. Solitude teaches us that there is a difference between being lonely and being alone.
Pray for times of refreshment and looking within alone with God.

It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. 10 And so, blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!
This is such an easy one to figure out. Do we want to be a blessing to others or do we want to be a curse? Stinking thinking leads to cursing, damaging language. Everything that is necessary to bring blessing or curse is located in that area just above our necks. “If you can’t say something nice about someone….”

Pray for God to either teach you his brand of love, or render you speechless (Luke 1:20).

“He’s the listen of the town.” “I’ll listen to you later.” “Listening is precious!”
I don’t know if we can replace “talk of the town,” “I’ll talk to you later,” or “talk is cheap” from our list of phrases (nor if we want to), but it’s interesting to think about how much more we talk of “talking” rather than “listening.”
Pray for listening to become more a part of your life.

19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.
God’s way of life is for everyone. He speaks to us through the Bible and our conscience. No one is exempt. We can ignore the Bible and ignore our conscience but that doesn’t mean the truth is not discovered there. Whether a believer or not, God is not silent to the world.
Pray for the wisdom to make progress in your study of God’s Word.

The Day of the LORD is when all God’s plans come to fulfillment. It is a joyous and scary day for disciples. Joyous, because finally the new creation is complete and the world is set to right. Scary, as it is also a time we honestly realize how much we need God and how much we have failed him. Somber and joyous together make a good combination for silence.
Pray for a sense of urgency always to be obedient to God.

I chuckle when I think of this text used to try to get people quiet in church services. The opposing team pulls out, “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord,” and we can start “Fight Club.” There are times to connect with each other and there are times to listen. A little silence can be powerful, especially at worship.
Quietly pray for the worship at your church before you arrive.

26 So it is good to wait quietly
for salvation from the Lord.
I would never think of bragging about my salvation. I certainly praise my Savior, however. It’s all about him. In the meantime, I want to serve others, reaching some with the good news that I heard for the first time long ago. I never get tired of hearing it.
Pray that the astounding hope of Jesus in your life never gets old.

7 He was oppressed and treated harshly,
yet he never said a word.
He was led like a lamb to the slaughter.
And as a sheep is silent before the shearers,
he did not open his mouth.
Jesus knows his suffering and death are for us. So, he takes it as it comes and he let’s all the injustice of it die with him. That injustice he goes through turns out to be our healing and eternal life. We deserve what he received, so we might receive him. How could I worship any other??
Thank Jesus for what he has done.

When we are right with God, we can handle all the “drama” that comes our way. Notice, I didn’t say we won’t have troubles, it’s just that we face them with God as our partner and so they aren’t really troubles in the long run, are they?
Pray for God’s eyes when you face challenges in your life.

It is foolish to belittle one’s neighbor;
a sensible person keeps quiet.
If you think advice would be helpful for someone else, then it takes great skill to actually earn the open attention from them to hear what you would like to share. If you want to criticize or show how much more you know than them, just know no one appreciates it deep down and you appear foolish, though people might not share that because they figure you wouldn’t hear it anyway.
As Stephen Covey once wrote, “Be a light instead of a judge.”
Pray for God to quiet your judgments.

Without knowing I get to live with Jesus forever, I would have great fear wondering if I measure up. Thank God Jesus dies for us while we are yet sinners. We don’t earn what is not ours to possess. Life with God forever comes through Jesus, not my effort.
Pray for an extra anointing of God’s grace today.

When we sin against God there is no court of appeals. We are 100% guilty 100% of the time. We can’t talk our way out it. All that is left is to throw ourselves on the mercy of the court. Thank God for our prosecutor who ends up being our defense, as well. The honorable Jesus.

There is no law that says we have to speak up every time something ticks us off. It may be just as good for us to leave it inside and let it die out as it is releasing it, to “get it off my chest.” Many don’t have a hard time lashing out in anger, but few are skilled at letting it die inside, even though this may be as good or better a response.
Pray for patience and holding your tongue.

That’s the wisest thing you could do.
In this day of instant recordings, instant blogging, instant everything, everything you say can and will be used against you, if someone decides they want to put you down. Public figures can no longer deny saying something they said. Now, they can only say, “I didn’t mean what you think I meant.”
Leaving things unspoken unless our speaking is absolutely necessary to bring good into the situation may be a discipline to take on if you are challenged by speaking too much.
Pray for the ability to be quiet.

Nothing like prayer to help on the booze budget. Now we know why they call it, “spirits.” Hannah is not drunk, however. She is just concentrating in the quiet of the hour. Focusing on her God. Praying intensely. Is intense prayer so rare for us that it seems unusual?

Communication is about 90% non-verbal according to communication mavens. We hear with our “eyes.” Also, practically, we all know what we miss in conversation because we are not really listening as much as trying to think of what we are going to say next.
With God, our richest communication can occur by just paying attention to the world around us and see where he shows up.
Pray for deep listening skills with loved ones.

We have been focusing on scriptural passages that deal with issues of practical living with God (the “with-God” life), and actively praying about this. A key discipline of growth and renewal for Christians is practicing silence and solitude. In our information overload era, these are among the toughest ways to open up to the Spirit.
So, of course, we will do just that for the remainder or the year. I don’t know about you, but I always get a little frazzled from now until New Year’s. Not now! We are going to get a Bible vitamin every week day, starting today. Enjoy!

When we are with God forever there will be no darkness. Everything will be completely out in the open. We will live exactly as God has designed us to live.
This life with God has already begun with the resurrected Jesus. We have glimpses of what will be our eternity, today. We call this the “Kingdom Life.” Notice it isn’t sitting back plucking at a harp and eating bon bons. We will reign with God in the new creation. He is bringing the Kingdom in for good and we are part of this plan. Together we move his Kingdom forward.
Pray for more trust so God can use you in even greater ways.

preaching at Oasis
Friends- I will be preaching at the 6 p.m. service at Oasis Christian Center, in Hollywood (the Godchicks church!) this Sunday, November 4th. Worship is at Oasis Theatre, located at 5100 Wilshire Blvd, in between La Brea & Highland. I am giving the message, seven reasons why people say they aren't Christian. Here is a sample essay that will be handed out.
Christians are way too exclusive
You must be kidding. When Carl Sagan, the most well known scientist of my generation, gave the keynote address at the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal organization’s annual meeting, he said this.
In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion. (Carl Sagan, 1987 CSICOP keynote address)
I’ll leave politics out of it, but there are a few little events that have occurred to change the way people think about religion, like say, Christianity out of Judaism, the whole Protestant Reformation, or more recently, the rise of Mormonism out of Christianity. Whatever you think of the merits of these outcomes, Carl, change does happen, even in religion.
So why would someone as brilliant as Carl Sagan be so naive concerning religion? I am most familiar with my own faith, of course, so I’ll ask the question this way. What’s your problem with Christianity? Actually, people have a lot of problems with Christianity. One strong criticism of Christianity is it is so exclusive.
“Christians think they are right and everyone else is wrong.” “Christians think they have the inside track to the truth.” “Christians are intolerant toward others.” What is really going on with these and similar statements?
Actually, everyone is exclusive. Everyone thinks they are right about their viewpoint. It’s just that Christians are honest enough to be open about their exclusivity. Jesus is “the way, the truth and the life.”
I mean, really, who doesn’t think they are right about the way they think? Christians aren’t saying there is no truth anywhere else, because we think whatever is good and right and honorable comes from God, anyway. We just think Jesus is the ultimate truth. If you want to see potentially unhelpful exclusivity, for example, stay tuned for the current presidential election. Do you think the candidates think they are right about their viewpoints? How about what the other candidate thinks? Perhaps it goes something like this.
“My opponent has some great ideas; actually quite similar to my own. In fact, I wish I could adopt a couple of his positions because they really might work well, but I can’t, because they are ideas he supports. Instead, I need to try to convince you that he is Satan incarnate.”
Everyone thinks they have to be right. Everyone believes they have the exclusive truth. Even people who say there is no truth think they are right. That is the latest theory. A very white, European idea floating around for the past couple of hundred years. Relativism.
Relativism asks the question, “Whose to say your truth is anymore real than my truth? It is just your opinion based on your cultural bias. Truth is simply a contextual thing.”
Well to say, “There is no ultimate truth” is, in and of itself, an ultimate truth statement. Everyone thinks they have the truth. Christians are just honest enough to admit it.
I like what author, Anne Lamott said, at a National Pastor’s Retreat a few years back. She was commenting on the phrase, “Well, that’s just your opinion.”
Yes, that’s just my opinion but I think I am right. If I didn’t think I was right I would have another opinion.
Yet, if everyone is exclusive in his/ her viewpoint, isn’t that being intolerant? I don’t know how this could be intolerant because the very definition of tolerance includes thinking you are right.
Tolerance says, “I respect you as a human being and I respect your right to have an opinion and I think your opinion is wrong.” You can’t be tolerant with people you agree with. You would be, “agreeable.” You can only show tolerance with people you disagree with.
To be intolerant would be to not respect people as human whom you disagree with, and/or not respect their right to have a worldview, and actually try to force that opinion to never be uttered. If you actually know anything about Christianity you would know that is the furthest thing from the model or message of Jesus. Here is what he said about people who disagree with Christians.
‘If people vehemently disagree with you, tell them you think they are wrong, leave them alone, and find some other people who might be more open to your viewpoint' (Luke 10:10-11).
Wow, how exclusivist and intolerant can you get? “Leave them alone.” You can see how this whole issue is a matter of full disclosure and honesty. If you are going to criticize Christians for being exclusive, you must criticize every human who ever lived, including of course, yourself. Everyone thinks they are right. Everyone is exclusive.

God’s word is the source of life. Jesus is the Word. His word brings life in abundance. His word drives us to repentance and new life if we but hear it and respond. In a world filled with so many words constantly immersing us with verbiage, God speaks softly and we strain to hear. Yet, these are the words we must here. Out of honesty and truth, they are for us and for our healing.

Angels are not people who have died and are with God directly now. Angels were created by God before the beginning of the universe. They are messengers for God, protect God’s people, and have a special role of protecting children. There are greater things going on than we can see. Thank God for these servants.

Unless we see God’s power at work, all the words in the world are not going to sway us to trust in Jesus. Unless the Holy Spirit fills us, we will not see God’s power at work enough to drive us to trust. Unless we are intentionally open to the possibility of the Holy Spirit, the whole process can’t begin. Faith begins with an invitation to a way of life.

When we give our lives to Jesus, we die to using human instinct and human desires as the source of our actions. The last thing I want to do is to go by my gut instinct or look within myself to get direction to how I am to live my life. I trust Jesus and his ways so much more then I trust me. I will rest in him.
Pray for confidence knowing Jesus holds you safe.

This goes along with the similar themes for this week. When God works through us, we become someone we can’t fathom. “Infinite” is beyond measure. It is wise to ask God to give us the vision to see the impossible as the area’s of life most worthy of living in.
What impossible thing might God have in store for you today? Pray about it.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
This goes along with the similar themes for this week. When God works through us, we become someone we can’t fathom. “Infinite” is beyond measure. It is wise to ask God to give us the vision to see the impossible as the area’s of life most worthy of living in.
What impossible thing might God have in store for you today? Pray about it.

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.
When we worry about how we can be a blessing to the world, a better spouse, parent, friend, a more effective disciple, then we are really wasting our time. We can have concern, but why would we worry? There are unlimited resources for us to do God’s work.
When we worry over things that God is not blessing or does not want blessed, then worry is a good thing because we ought not be doing those things in the first place. Worry might actually force us to get back on God’s track.
Pray for the areas of you life where you need God to show up the most.

good news
Eph. 3:7
By God’s grace and mighty power, I have been given the privilege of serving him by spreading this Good News.
When we serve God the way he intends us to serve, we are privileged to be doing what we are doing. It is only when we are serving in arenas we aren’t gifted in, don’t have passion for, or aren’t areas God is calling us to address, that we might be dragged down. Ministries that have something to do with “spreading the Good News” are a strong indicator of possible strength.
Pray for God to give you appreciation for what he is doing.
